With MS Telemarken you can take a boat trip on the beautiful Telemark Canal from Akkerhaugen via Ulefoss to Lunde round trip. The boat is connected to Norsjø Hotell and Norsjø Ferieland. M/S Telemarken departs and arrives at Akkerhaugen Brygge, a short walk from the hotel.

MS Telemarken is one of 3 boats that go on schedule on the Telemark Canal during the summer season mid-June - mid-August. MS Telemarken has 1 departure a day. It starts from Akkerhaugen pier at Norsjø hotel, via Norsjø Ferieland, further over Norsjø to Ulefoss, where it is unlocked through the canal to Lunde. The boat docks on the bottom of the locking facility in Lunde. Here you have the opportunity to go to look at the locking facility before the boat turns and sails back to Akkerhaugen the same way. Food can be purchased on board the boat, such as sausages, toast, waffles, ice cream and soft drinks and coffee.

History
M/S Telemarken was built at Västerviks new varv in Sweden in 1951 and was one of the boats in the Stockholm archipelago. The boat's first name was M/S Freja and was eventually renamed to M/S Karson. In 1988 the boat was put into operation on the Telemark Canal with the name M/S Telemarken, after one of the former canal boats. The boat is 26 m long, 5.6 m wide and 1.6 m deep ball. M/S Telemarken can take 140 passengers and operates on a fixed route between Akkerhaugen and Lunde. The boat is owned by Telemark AS and Norsjø Hotel.
