Canal Boats Telemark AS is the first Norwegian company to rent out 100% electrical boats in the cabin cruiser class.
Holiday with 100% electric boat
With these boats, Canal Boats Telemark introduces a completely new way of holidaying by boat. The noisy and smelly diesel engine has been replaced with a quiet electric motor.
Standard, luxury and well-being
With Canal Boats Telemark you get the best of both worlds. Treat yourself with high standard, luxury and well-being while taking care of the nature and the sea that surrounds you.
Boat driver's license
If you are born before 1980 we only demand that you have two seasons of experience sailing a boat. All tenants born after 1980 must have a Norwegian boat driver's license.
In addition to the Norwegian boat driver's license, ICC (the International Certificates for Operator of Pleasure Craft) is also approved as a valid boat driver's license. Here is a list of countries that are members of ICC Resolution No.40. In addition to this, all tenants must be 25 years of age or older.
Operating distance
In the same way as an electric car, small adjustments in speed give large effects on range. The range of the boats, on the other hand, is very long if you keep a calm pace. You will at all times have an overview of how much power is left on a display on the boat, in addition, the solar panel will also be able to provide power to the operating batteries. There will therefore never be any danger of running out of power.
Examples of range in headwind: 4.9 knots = 57.6 nm, 5.6 knots = 43.9 nm, 6.2 knots = 33.5 nm, 7.5 = 20.9 nm
Where can you load the boats?
Charging stations are located along the entire Telemark Canal and the Telemark coast.
Here you will find an overview of charging points.
Prices
Prices vary depending on the season. Current prices can be found on the website of Canal Boats Telemark.
Season and rental period
The boats can be rented all year round, both for a longer period, but also for day trips. You can rent a boat with a captain or drive the boat yourself. We also offer day trips with captain and waiter on board where we serve local food and drinks (all rights reserved).
Experiences along the way
The waterway that stretches from Kragerø to Dalen is a completely unique journey in Norwegian nature. Here you will experience the shift from rocks and skerries to dense forests and high mountains. Along the Telemark Canal you will also experience the spectacular locks.
Canal Boats Telemark has made a guide to all the fantastic activities and sights that can be found along the Telemark Canal and the Telemark coast. That way, you have plenty of time to plan your vacation based on what you like to do. Whether you love a quiet relaxing holiday along the canal or a more active and exciting holiday, you will be sure to find something that suits your interests perfectly.
