Eidsfoss locks consists of two chambers with a total lift of impressive 10 meters.
The locks are manually operated, as they did in 1892 when the canal opened.
One of the lock gates is wider, so that it is possible to cross with a bicycle.
It is part on the National Bicycle Road Nr. 2 in Norway - click here for more information and route.
Located on a hill with a beautiful view over the locks, is the Eidsfoss lock guard residence.
